  1. I find this article very interesting because I will start teaching in the next year and being almost 60 I am concerned for what we are trying do in schools. I want to educate students and not try and change them into me. Their cultural background is who they are and I want to accept them for that. I do think I have a responsibility to help them understand how they need to function in the business world. Unfortunately, in some circles, the business world still has its suit and tie approach, but that does not mean we have to be that 24 hours a day. What I want to provide students is the ability to make their own decisions and not follow the crowd. Getting a tattoo is fine as long as it is what you want and not that you have to follow the crowd. Teaching students to look at both sides of an argument and to look at all issue from multiple perspectives will be a major teaching goal of mine. I want to product critical thinkers and not multiple me.
